Nestled beautifully in the rainforest, Pousada Cachoeira was a delightful escape for my recent solo Christmas getaway. The cozy room felt like a retreat, complete with a minibar and a lovely balcony where I could unwind after a day of exploring. The lush tropical garden right outside my door, complete with its own natural pool, offered the perfect backdrop for sipping coffee in the morning or savoring a peaceful evening. The staff, particularly Ximena, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was smooth, even rescuing me from a transport crisis when my plans fell through. The communal kitchen was a gem, allowing me to whip up a meal and dine al fresco on the terrace-hammocks at the ready, of course! With the soothing sounds of the nearby waterfall and the peaceful ambiance of the accommodation, I truly felt at one with nature-an essential element for a landscape photographer like me. Plus, being only a short walk from Ilha Grande's charm made it easy to explore, but retreating back to this tranquil haven was the best part of my day. If you fancy a picturesque escape wrapped in serenity, Pousada Cachoeira is an absolute must-visit.
